Hello Basball Families,
Oakridge Optimist Baseball registration will open online in early January. Below is some information you may find helpful prior to registering your kids.
Reminder - Registration for each division closes once we have reached capacity for each given division based on diamond availability. In 2025 some divisions were closed before the end of February.
Oakridge House League Season starts (Mid May), Coaches are given player rosters (Mid April), so families should hear from a coach around May 1 (Typically through email or text - primary email on registration form)
Its become increasingly difficult to find volunteer coaches so please check the volunteer box when registering your kids. Its much easier when each team has multiple volunteers to work together. Without coaches we cant run teams and we'd hate to have to refund families do to lack of coaches. Volunteer coaches can also participate in our march 29th evaluation day and have a voice in the selection of teams.
- Your Registration is not complte until payment is made (Spots not secure by filling out form without payment)
- Your bank E-transfer confirmation is confirmation that registration is complete (Reciepts & confirmation emails are not sent)

H/L Player evaluations will take place for 9u, 11u & 13u divisions -
March 29th (Morning between 9am-1pm) @ Centrefield sports (25 Midpark Cresent, London, On) (Included in your registaryion fee which has not gone up in 2026). This is to help convenors balance teams. At the older ages coaches have a better idea on player strengths and convenors often do a draft style team selection with coaches (Players will play catch, get some instruction on ground balls, fly balls and hit in a batting cage - bring running shoes, glove and helmet)
- "NEW" - Player evaluations are not mandatory but attending will improve your players chances of being being on a team with players they may want to play with as the more players we can evaluate the easier the process for selecting teams will be.

Player requests - To help us balance teams we will honour one player request. This request must be reciprocal (Both families must make the request). We understand families share rides, etc so we want to still give families the option to mutually request kids play together. Outside of this mutual request we can not honour requests for players with a coach or multiple players (You may request but understand its unlikely to be honoured as we want to do our best for all families to make balanced teams)
- Uniform sizing - If your new to Oakridge Optimist Baseball, all players 9u to 18u receive a full uniform each year (Hat, Pants, Jersey, Socks, Belt). Please remeber that you want to order uniform sizes that will fit May to August)

Blastball, Ball & 7u have set nights. 9u -18u play in the LDBA Bermuda Triangle league with teams from Oakridge, Byron, North London & Lucan-Ilderton. Teams from these ages will receive a season schedule in early May for the summer. 9u Playoff weekend is July 24-26 & 11u-18u Playoffs are Aug 13-16.
