9U Select Learn From Their Buddies
The 9u select team has thoroughly enjoyed being mentored by the 14u Rep team this season.
This summer the 9u Select Team has partnered with the 14u Rep Team for a baseball mentorship program. Players have been paired with a 'baseball buddy' (think reading buddy, but way more fun!) who they work with once a week. The focus has been two-fold: skill development and sharing a true love of the game. The 14u rep players have done an outstanding job working with their little buddies, building relationships, modeling proper mechanics, and providing lots of encouragement, and to their little buddies, they are practically celebrities! Each weekly session ends with a friendly competition (water balloons, egg toss, homerun derby) where big and little buddies work together to defeat their teammates! To our big buddies, we wish you luck this weekend in the LDBA playoffs and thank you for all you have taught us so far this season!
