Born Osborne Earl Smith on December 26, 1954, "The Wizard" was known for his defensive brilliance.  He set MLB records for most career assists (8,375) and double plays (1,590) by a shortstop.  The 15 time all-star won 13 consecutive gold glove awards and was elected to the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame in 2014 as well as The Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002.
