Player of the Week
Each week, The London West Tincaps Major Rookie team will select an MLB player of the week.  This may be a current player on a hot streak, a former baseball great or someone we want to recognize and learn about.

This weeks player of the week is "The Millville Meteor".

Michael Nelson Trout was born on August 07, 1991 in Vineland, New Jersey.  He made his MLB debut on July 8th, 2011 after being drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the first round of the 2009 MLB draft.

In 2012, after spending time with the Salt Lake Bees, the right throwing and right catching Trout joined the Angels and made an immediate impact.  He recorded four hit games with ease and made amazing catches like this one on the Baltimore Orioles JJ Hardy.
He won the AL Rookie of the Month 4 times that season and became the youngest player ever to hit at least 20 home runs and steal at least 40 bases.  He also became the first player in MLB history to hit 30 home runs, steal 45 bases and score 125 runs in a season.

Since his debut season, all Mike Trout has done is been one of the best players in baseball.  He is a 6x All Star(2012-17), 2x AL MVP(2014, 2016), 5x Silver Slugger(2012-2106), AL Hank Aaron Award Winner(2014), AL Rookie of the Year(2012), AL RBI Leader(2014), AL Stolen Base Leader(2012).
