Full OBA tie breaker rules RP7.4 as follows:

In tournaments where tie breaking rules are required, the following tie breaking rules will be used for each placement independently:

i.      Teams with a forfeit loss are ineligible for tiebreakers

ii.      head-to-head record among tied teams;

iii.      team with the smallest runs against ratio (runs allowed / number of defensive innings played) in       games among tied teams;

iv.      team with the smallest runs against ratio (runs allowed / number of defensive innings played) in all      games;

v.      team with the highest runs for ratio (runs scored / number of offensive innings played) in games        among tied teams;

vi.      team with the highest runs for ratio (runs scored / number of offensive innings played) in all games;

vii.      coin toss

When there are 3 or more teams tied, the tiebreakers will exclude RP7.4 (a) (ii). After the winner of that tie breaker is determined, the tiebreakers will continue, if necessary, excluding RP7.4 (a) (ii) as long as there are 3 or more teams tied. When only 2 teams remain, the tiebreaker will start at RP7.4 (a) (i).

If the home team is ahead, or if the game is out of reach due to the seven-run limit, the final inning or half inning will not be played. If during the bottom of the last inning the home team goes ahead by one run, the game will end with a one run win recorded. Tie breaking rule calculations, however, will revert back to the end of the top half of that inning.

Games shall be a maximum of 7 innings* and 5 innings shall constitute an official game (RQ2.3(g)).

*If a playoff game is tied after seven complete innings, OBA extra innings rules will be used: i.e., SECTION RP2.14 EXTRA-INNING RULES

Teams are asked to conduct post game meetings off the field. Please gather all equipment and personal items as quickly as possible to keep the games on schedule.

All valid protests and rule interpretations (including any scorekeeping disputes) will be ruled upon at that time by the on-site tournament Convenor and play will continue after. Such rulings will be final

In the case that rain occurs causing scheduling problems the tournament Committee reserves the right to alter the tournament and playoff format.

Trophies shall be awarded to players only with a maximum of 14 per team. Presentations will occur on the side lines for semi-final games and on field in Championships (time permitting)

Ejected team officials will be subject to the minimum of one game suspension. Additional suspensions may apply as determined by the umpires’ report. All suspensions will be reported to both the OBA and the team’s local Association.

Team officials are also responsible for the behaviour of their team’s fans.
